Ways We Serve Shreveport-Bossier
We love Shreveport-Bossier. It’s our home, and we want to see it flourish. Here are some of our favorite ways of doing good in the SBC.
Common Ground is a Christ-centered community center serving their Cedar Grove neighbors. We partner with them regularly, serving some of their Thursday night meals and volunteering in their community choice market and Christmas market. Common Ground’s ministry also includes a community garden, after-school tutoring, clothes closet, and summer day camp. They are making a real difference in their neighborhood, and we’re happy to serve with them.
Soon after ClearView got started, one of our small groups heard this idea about showing up at laundromats to pay for strangers’ laundry. They couldn’t get the idea out of their heads and soon they were test driving it themselves. Read more about Laundry Love.
RACK – Random Acts of ClearView Kindness
The gospel is surprising, catching us off guard with God’s grace. We like to do random acts of kindness to surprise and encourage others. We’ve left quarters at Redbox machines, brought food to hungry nurses, and even sent boxes of gummy bears to deployed airmen.
We’re happy to partner with several great non-profits serving our city. With VOA, we’ve served at the veteran’s transitional living center, the lighthouse program, and the teen outreach program. Our student ministry serves often with Providence House, and we’ve also enjoyed partnering with Holy Angels and the Food Bank of NWLA.
