Time is one of God’s gifts. Every day we have 86,400 seconds given to us to spend as we choose. There’s so much that God does in our lives, and in our kids’ lives, that can’t happen instantly – lessons that have to be learned and absorbed slowly, over time. But time can also be slippery. We lose hours to unimportant emails and tv shows we’re not even watching. But don’t worry. This isn’t one of those beat-you-over-the-head-with-mom/dad-guilt-because-you-look-at-your-phone-more-often-than-you-should series. This is about finding the sweet spot between obsessively worrying about time and living in denial that time moves on and your kids are growing up. This is about believing that God is with you in small, ordinary moments and that those moments, by his grace, do indeed add up. Movies remind us that our choices shape the future, so let’s leave the past in the past, be present in the present, and choose a better future for those we love the most.
